Dr. Prabhdev Singh Brar
M.B.B.S., D.O.M.S., M.S. joined Punjab State Civil Medical Services in 1985 as Medical Officer. He joined Eye Dept. of G.G.S. Medical College Faridkot as registrar in 1988 for three years and continued to serve in this medical college till 1998 when he left PCMS & started his own set up BRAR EYE HOSPITAL after a govt. service of 13 years. During this stint in govt. job, he honed the art of Operative Ophthalmology. He went to various centres of excellence in eye care in India and abroad including stalwarts like Richard Makool of New York (U.S.), Paul Koch of Long Island (U.S.) and Aggarwal Eye Hospital of Chennai in early nineties to learn and master Phako-emulsification eye surgery for cataract extraction and ….Implantation which was then an in-thing in eye care. To keep abreast with the latest, he regularly attends annual conferences of All India Ophthalmological Society, Intra Ocular Implant and Refractive Surgery Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
